8BitDo’s Ultimate 2C is a feature-packed Switch controller that’s just $30

8BitDo borrowed many of the features found in its great but pricey Ultimate Bluetooth controller, which is usually $69.99, and put them in its Ultimate 2C that’s less than half the cost. This new $29.99 wireless controller pairs with the Nintendo Switch and other Bluetooth-ready devices, like the Steam Deck. It has motion control support and Hall effect joysticks that won’t drift over time. It boasts a refined d-pad compared to the previous generation, plus it comes in fabulous blue and pink pastels on Amazon. It seems like a great way to go if you need one or more extra wireless controllers, but don’t want to spend more than the cost of a new game to get one.

The company makes a separate version of the Ultimate 2C suited for PC gaming and mobile users. It one sells for the same price at Amazon, and ships with a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver that can be plugged into your device’s USB-A port. It’s tough to tell the two models apart, save for the fact that this one has extra shoulder buttons that are mappable. Unfortunately for Switch owners, this one won’t work on Nintendo’s console — a shame as this variant comes in even more color schemes, including brownie brown.
