That’s right, there’s a secret ending to Dragon Age: The Veilguard, taking form as a post-credits scene.
To unlock the post-credits scene, you’ll need to collect three Mysterious Circles around Thedas. No matter how the endgame and ending of Dragon Age: The Veilguard plays out in your game, the bonus, lore-heavy post-credit scene will play if you collect them all.
Our Dragon Age: The Veilguard guide will show you how to see the post-credits scene by getting all three Mysterious Circles.
How to unlock the secret post-credit scene in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The secret ending here is separate from the three endings you can get in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. It’s an extra post-credits scene that plays out regardless of which ending you get.
To get the post-credits scene, you’ll have to find three Mysterious Circle codex entries that aren’t part of any side quest and don’t actually tell you you’ve done anything special.
You’ll find them in:
- Arlathan Forest, by solving the Waterfront Glades chest puzzle
- The Crossroads, by completing the “Heart of Corruption” side quest
- Necropolis Halls, by completing the “Pinnacle of Its Kind” side quest
Let’s break them all down below.
How to get the Mysterious Circle in Arlathan Forest
In the Waterfront Glades region of Arlathan Forest, you might spot a glowing chest on an unreachable island. To get there, you’ll have to point three (four, technically) beams of light at three crystals on the island.
Work your way around the cliffs surrounding the island to find the three (four — one is a beam you have to point at another beam to activate it) devices. Each one can only point at one crystal, so there’s no trick to it.

Once all of the beams are locked in, a bridge will form, leading you to the chest and, more importantly, the first Mysterious Circle.
How to get the Mysterious Circle in the Crossroads
“The Heart of Corruption” is a game-long quest that you’ll pick up early in your explorations of the Crossroads.
First, you’ll have to find several Champions and use their Essences to unlock three blight doors in the Crossroads:
- Gate of Deep Sorrows — Desmal, Bloodbound to Elgar’nan in Treviso
- Gate of Pale Reflections — Amarell the Unknown in Hossberg Wetlands
- Gate of Parched Hope — Entarus the Rekindled in Arlathan Forest
Getting those doors opened will lead you to fights against three Revenants in the Crossroads:
- Gate of Deep Sorrows — Betrayal of Felassan
- Gate of Pale Reflections — Slaughter of the Pillars
- Gate of Parched Hopes — Entarus the Rekindled
And after all of that, you’ll face off against a level 50 Revanent Dragon below Beacon Island in the Crossroads. (If you’ve already completed “Regrets of the Dread Wolf,” you’ll get a bit of help from Mythal here.)

After the fight, you’ll head to the south to find your reward and a dock for the Caretaker’s boat. Before you leave, though, look to the southeast. There’s a ruined wall you can mantle onto. Head up the stairs and around to the right to find the Mysterious Circle.
How to get the Mysterious Circle in Necropolis Halls
When you recruit Emmrich to your team in the Necropolis, you’ll pick up the “Restless Spirits” quest. Completing that will lead you to a mysterious locked door and another quest, “Pinnacle of Its Kind.”
For this quest, you’ll have to tackle three demons — one in Arlathan Forest, one in Dock Town, and one in the Hossberg Wetlands. Once they’re all defeated, you can return to Necropolis Halls and take on The Formless One, who, of course, becomes an undead dragon.

Once The Formless One is defeated, there are three small alcoves off the arena where you can gather loot. The one you’re looking for is in the southwest, to the left of the two main chests that unlock after defeating the dragon.
Step into the alcove to collect the Mysterious Circle.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard post-credits scene
We won’t go into details or spoil anything here, but collecting the three Mysterious Circles will add an extra cutscene once you beat the game. Stick around after the credits finish rolling to watch it.
