Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra delayed until 2026

Yet another big release this year has been delayed until 2026; this time, it’s Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, the World War II-era action game co-starring Captain America and Black Panther. Developer Skydance Games explained the delay in a statement posted to X, noting that the development team wants to add some polish to its product:

We have an important update: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will now be launching in early 2026. Taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish, and make sure we give you the best possible experience, and one that lives up to our vision.

We have some exciting things in store and look forward to sharing more soon!

—The Marvel 1943 Team

Set during the height of World War II, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra introduces an original story featuring iconic heroes of the era: Steve Rogers’ Captain America and Azzuri the Black Panther. Teaming up with Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos and Nanali, leader of the Wakandan Spy Network, the duo will take the fight to Hydra — Marvel’s infamous Nazi-inspired villains — deep in Occupied Paris.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be the debut title from Skydance Games, the studio helmed by Uncharted series veteran Amy Hennig and longtime Electronic Arts producer Julian Beak. Originally announced in 2021, and first shown the next year, the game promises a blockbuster, narrative-driven action-adventure with a fresh spin on the Marvel Universe. Players can expect gritty, era-authentic combat enhanced by Wakandan mystic tech and innovations from Howard Stark.
