A new trailer for Echoes of Wisdom released Friday reveals that, in addition to her copy and bind powers, Zelda can also call upon the power of a swordfighter. In practice, this ability basically gives Zelda the sword-fighting prowess of Link; she can slash, spin, and guard while in swordfighter form, but only for limited periods.
Zelda’s primary weapon in Echoes of Wisdom is her Tri Rod. That tool lets the princess make copies of objects and enemies, then deploy those copies as “echoes” to battle other enemies, solve puzzles, and traverse Hyrule and its dungeons. Like recent Zelda games starring Link (Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom), player creativity and ingenuity will be key to solving the princess’ problems — like dealing with those nasty mystical rifts that are tearing Hyrule apart.
Does Zelda have even more secrets up her sleeve? We’ll all find out when The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is released for Nintendo Switch on Sept. 26.
