Sony’s powerful PlayStation 5 Pro is now available to pre-order exclusively through PS Direct, the company’s direct-to-consumer web store. The $699.99 console will ship on Nov. 7. In case you prefer to shop on Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, or other mainstay retailers, some product links are already live (so feel free to bookmark them), but you won’t be able to pre-order through those shops for a couple weeks, starting Oct. 10 at 7 a.m. PST / 10 a.m. EST.
For those who need a refresher, the PS5 Pro aims to play PS5 games at faster frame rates and with more graphical detail. Additionally, Sony is touting better ray tracing and AI-driven graphical enhancements to games that are patched to support it. Polygon’s Matt Leone recently went hands-on with the powerful console, trying out several of the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” titles that will be supported at its launch.
The PS5 Pro isn’t the only new hardware that Sony has prepped for the holiday shopping season. Its PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection of products (including a PS5 Pro, PS5 Slim Digital Edition, PlayStation Portal, DualSense, and the pricier DualSense Edge) are also available to pre-order — each clad in the color scheme reminiscent of the original PlayStation. Good luck resisting their charm, and I wish you even more luck with actually securing any of these units before they sell out!
